WWW.FRANCESCOVENIER.IT "Letter to the visitors"

Although for years I have been cooperating with some websites, and my name has appeared twice on the first page of results of the Google search engine, I have been feeling the need to have my own space for a long time now. A space where everyone can feel free to learn about my achievements in the last several years, both in the journalistic and pictorial field. The websites that have displayed my work have given me a lot of space, but in order to publish all of my articles and paintings I would need a far bigger space in terms of megabytes. This is something I can only do on my own website. When http://www.francescovenier.it/ was first made available on the web it was about 250MB in size, but this figure is set to increase thanks to the constant contributions. My aim was to constitute a proper virtual archive where all my works and texts and reports of the last 10 years could be gathered, easy to access and useful to all of those who have been reading my work for a long time, and of course to all the new friends I will encounter in the future. While planning my website, my priorities were a clear structure of the archive, and an easy and quick consultation of such a huge amount of information and pictures. You will notice on the homepage that I chose a layout with virtual buttons, so I can direct you immediately to the topic of your interest. While one page is the starting point for the visit to other pages, a list of all the files is available on the left hand side.
I would like to introduce you to the content of this website, http://www.francescovenier.it/
There are two main sections; journalism and painting.
The first section contains the following topics:
My articles
Articles written about my works by Italian journalists
Articles about the region of Abruzzi
Articles in non-Italian magazines
Covers dedicated to me.
The second section; painting, lists the followings:
Reviews
Paintings selection
Colours of minnows
Figurative paintings
Geometrical paintings.
Two more options are available in addition to these ten topics, Photo Gallery and Blog. All this accounts for 12 choices for the visitors of my site, most of them containing a huge amount of information.
I would like to start with MY ARTICLES to give a quick look with you at each topic I mentioned. Almost 100 of my reports find space here, all about different aspects of the subjects we are interested in. There are articles about some different species of fish, including when, where and how to fish them. Others are more tourist-oriented, and describe those beautiful resorts where you can combine your holiday with fishing. Additional articles focus on equipment & maintenance, purchases, boats, rubber boats and engines. Texts on painting of nature, texts on bricolage, and some original ideas about fishing and sailing are also published here. This is the result of years of writing, the core of the section about journalism.
In ARTICLES WRITTEN ABOUT MY WORKS BY ITALIAN JOURNALISTS you can find articles written by some well-known Italian journalists in regards to my works.
ARTICLES ABOUT THE REGION OF ABRUZZI is one of my favourites. Most of my articles about this gorgeous region of Italy and the Scanno lake are mentioned here. This region is almost uncontaminated by pollutants, and its lakes and rivers have fresh and clear waters. Its villages, resting on the mountains, maintain the fascination of the past, people are friendly and life has a slower, humane rhythm. This is demonstrated in the blooming nature, the absence of barbed wire, the fauna free to move safely. It happens to have female bears with their cubs, stags living in numerous droves, something one can not even believe possible elsewhere. Talking about the flora, almost 40 different species of wild orchids live in the Abruzzi region! In its waters you will find any kind of fish, such as trout, pike, whitefish, carp and chub. Could we ask more from this pristine region?
MY ARTICLES IN NON-ITALIAN MAGAZINES are about those reports written by myself or about my works, in five languages. American, French, German, Polish and Czech authors refer to me as a leader in the fields of journalism and painting.
The last branch of the section Journalism is COVERS DEDICATED TO ME, a collection of covers dedicated to me and my work.
Let us talk about painting now
REVIEWS contains information on my one-man exhibitions, playbills, journalistic critiques, and much more about my exhibitions in Venice, Florence, Verona, Bologna, Siena, Trento, etc.
PICTORIAL ART is divided into PAINTINGS SELECTION, FIGURATIVE PAINTINGS and GEOMETRICAL PAINTINGS, and displayed here is the artistic work that I carried out during the past few years. As the word “figurative” itself suggests, in the figurative paintings section you will find those of my canvasses where the subject is stylized, but still generating from nature. My inspiration comes from nature, from the water in particular. Peaceful and stable paintings, where humanoids and animals and the environment interact in harmony, generating a sort of eternal dance of life, constantly evolving. Subjects are never definite, there is a mixture of anatomic features claiming a common primeval origin. Life for me is a blend of separate elements, like the limbs of a body. The general well-being depends on that of every single limb, and on the harmonic interaction of them. My dear friends, think about our beloved fishes for a moment, the water, the air. Think about the flora and the atmosphere. What would the future be like if these elements were not harmonically combined?
GEOMETRICAL PAINTINGS is about dozens of paintings with definite geometrical traits. As in my figurative art, the source of inspiration is the same. Yet, it is the artistic expression that changes, and the representation of my world becomes minimal. I call it conceptual painting, where colours and shapes turn into pure thinking.
In the section about painting you will find COLOURED FISHES, about 140 studies known both in Europe and America on the colouration of freshwater and saltwater fishes’ liveries. This is probably the largest existing collection of duns. Extremely helpful when fishing, it also has a high cultural value, as if it was a naturalistic research about the distinguishing features of some species of fishes. These works, and the seven articles of the series Quando i colori vivono, when colours live, available in the section MY ARTICLES, has the other purpose of teaching the technique for painting and personalize our own duns. This proves to be also a pleasant and rewarding hobby for the cold days of the winter season. Its results will be tangible later in fishing. Trust me my friends, catching a prey with your own personalized minnows is extremely satisfying.
Do not miss the PHOTO GALLERY. With the passing of time, this will become a gallery of picture from the different situations and subjects. Words are often superfluous, pictures can say everything, especially those of panoramic views or about the environment. In the future this gallery is set to become a narration made of images, with fishing actions, places and situations worth to be remembered.
The last section is my BLOG, the right place for communication via e-mail. I promise to do all I can to reply to all of your messages, so that we can start an interesting exchange of points of view.
Now I need your opinion now, do you think this website will be of interest to you? My hope is that my works and efforts will be an entertaining option for you, a way to stay in touch with you all.
All this is http://www.francescovenier.it/ , a friendly meeting point for us both.
